Have you heard of the garlic diet?
You don’t lose much weight, but no one wants to come too close, and from a distance your friends think you look thinner! ![]()
The current family favorite, made for vada paav, but liberally sprinkled on everything – from sandwiches to eggs, to air fryed vegetables.
Recipe
1. Heat 1 tsp of oil
Roast 12 cloves of garlic (1/4 heaped cup)
till browned. Set aside.
2. In the same pan saute till roasted
1 heaped tbsp peanuts (or use roasted peanuts – in which case don’t saute them again)
3. Add to the same pan
1 tbsp sesame seeds
1 tsp jeera (cumin seeds)*
1 tsp dania (coriander seeds)*
Saute till aromatic
4. Put off heat
Add
1/2 cup Desiccated Coconut
Toss till brownish in retained heat.
5. Cool completely
Add
1.5 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
1 tsp Salt ( add 3/4 tsp first and adjsut to taste)
Grind to a coarse powder.
Store in an airtight jar. Use an absolutely dry spoon for each use.
* Not traditionally used, but adds extra flavor.
