My Coffee Decoction proportion
4 heaped teaspoons ground coffee*
Percolated in a traditional South Indian filter with
1 cup Very HOT (not boiling) water
Mixing proportion
1/4 cup decoction to 3/4 cup very hot, slightly over boiled (2% fat)milk
Sugar to taste
Aathified **![]()
a couple times for the frothing and blending of sugar !
*Generally use 3 tsp of Coorg, Cothas or Narasu coffee powder,( in that order depending on availability )
topped with 1 tsp of New Orleans’ Cafe Du Monde powder, which adds the extra touch of chicory !
** Tanglish (Tamil English) term for pouring the coffee from the tumbler to the cup and back, from a considerable height . The higher you pour it from, the more professional you seem. – R. Gopalan See Less
