If I’m going to have something rich and yummy, I’m not reaching for prepackaged brownies. I’m going to make a pie from scratch.~ Marisa Miller
Brownie Mix Brownies, Rich and Yummy. Pie from scratch and Brownies from scratch, saved for another day
Brownies- best eaten with a glass of milk !
Few desserts are as American as Brownies!
Their origin can be traced back to Bertha Palmer, owner of Palmer House Hotelin Chicago. Her chef was asked to concoct a delicious and transportable dessert for packed lunches at The World’s Columbian Exposition in 1893, and a classic dessert was born !
The word ”Brownie” though was coined in the 1896 version of the Boston Cooking-School Cook Book by Fannie Farmer. Molasses cakes baked individually in tin molds, without chocolate, this version of Brownies resemble the “Blondies” of today.
Despite all good intentions to bake these from the original recipe from scratch, life happened.
So I took the easy way out with Ghirardelli’s boxed mix – the best mix in the market imo. Hope I get Brownie points for my honesty
