Mor Kuzhambu

A quarrel is like buttermilk, the more you stir it, the more sour it grows. – Proverb

Buttermilk and Yogurt. Two things I won’t eat – an open secret. Sacrilege in the TamBrahm community where every meal ends with Thair Sadam (rice and yogurt)

The only forms of this I can tolerate are Raita, (a vegetable yogurt dip) when eaten with spicy food or Mor Kuzhambu, a buttermilk stew, if made very spicy 🙂🙃 with deep fried okra in it.

Mor Kuzhambu, very native to the TamBrahm community, is generally made with slightly soured buttermilk. Blended with an aromatic spice paste, this too should not be boiled or stirred much.

A delicious recipe from Archana’s Kitchen
