Green Chutney

Green Chutney – definitely a prime ingredient in an Indian pantry. Used with all chaat preparations, as a side to samosa, pakodas and bajjis and their cousins, and gives a good spicy kick when incorporated into a sandwich!

Recipe
🌿Blend together
1 cup Coriander leaves
1 cup Mint Leaves
1/4 cup Pottu Kadalai – roasted channa dal*
1 inch Ginger , chopped
2 to 3 Green Chillies
In 1/4 cup water
🌿 Add
1/2 tsp sugar
3/4 tsp salt – adjust to taste
1/2 tsp chaat masala
1/2 tsp jeera powder
1 tbsp Lemon juice
🌿 Adjust the water to form a smooth pourable liquid
🌿Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container. Use a clean dry spoon for each use.
🌿 * Optional. It adds texture and make the chutney a bit thicker. No inference in taste with or without.
