Ras Malai one of my favorite desserts, only next to Tiramisu.
Ras Malai , a spongy dumpling soaked in delicious and creamy almond flavored milk. Once upon a time I used to make it from scratch, but now, take the easy way out using tinned version and just making the almond milk.
Recipe
Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 mts on low heat till thickened
4 cups milk
1 cup almond powder
2 generous pinches saffron
1/2 cup Almond slivers
Cool till it’s no longer boiling hot, but warm to touch
Squeeze out 12 ready made Ras Malai dumplings from tins and add to the almond milk when still warm and let soak
Refrigerate and serve chilled,garnished with rose petals
