Popsicles

“I don’t drink anymore… I freeze it and eat it like a popsicle.” ~ Dean Martin

Came across this delightful recipe for Jalapeño Mango Margarita Popsicles by @bromabakery, and thought it would be a fun summer cocktail idea for an lunch I am hosting.

While making Popsicles was breeze, photography was a challenge, thanks to 90°F temperatures in Chicago and of course, my complete inexperience with capturing frozen stuff. I refused to buy fake ice and went instead with the cute cactus ice cubes and decided on presenting the Popsicles in glasses, as these would ultimately form a part of a Margarita!

Armed with useful tips from the Net, including chilling the serveware, a complete set up and trial pictures before getting the actual food out, making many many extra ice cubes and Popsicles and enlisting my spouse to be my “Ice and wipe” boy ( bring out a new cute cactus ice cube on cue every 2 mts to replace the melted one/ wiping the watery mess😆 between shots), I must say I am quite pleased with my attempt at frozen frames.

What do you think?

Substitutes Mango Juice ( Deep – an Indina brand) instead of fresh mangoes and it still was delicious!

Await photos of the actual cocktail … coming up soon!
