Something about the rain and the smell of something being dipped in hot oil go together! With a glass of tea, it’s complete! Urulakizhangu (Potato/Aloo ) Bonda, deep fried and dripping in oil is perfect for a monsoon snack
Recipe
♨️Heat 2 tbsp oil
Let splutter
1 tsp Mustard seeds
1 tsp Jeera / Cumin Seeds
♨️Add
12 curry leaves town to small bits
2 tbsp of Thai Green Chillies finely chopped
1 cup Onions finely chopped
Cook till onions are browned
♨️Add
3 cups of boiled potatoes
Mash the whole mixture together, adding
1 tsp of salt
1 tbsp grated ginger
3 tbsp of chopped Mint and Coriander leaves combined
Shape into small balls.
♨️Make a thick batter of
1.5 cups Kadala Maav / Besan / Chick pea flour
2 tbsp of rice flour
1 tsp Kashmiri Chilli powder
3/4 tsp of salt and Required water
♨️Dip the potato balls in this mixture
Deep fry in medium heat till golden.
