Flour Pakoda

Pakoda on a gloomy winter  afternoon, brightened by a visit by a friend. Suddenly wanted something Indian and deep fried and so decided on this quick recipe !

My neighbor Sushma’s Pakoda recipe
❄Mix together
1 cup self rising flour *
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp Asafoetida
1/4 cup Rice Flour
❄Add
1/2 cup finely chopped Onions
6 to 8 chopped Curry Leaves
3 tbsp chopped Corainder
1 inch gated Ginger
2 tbsp minced green chillies
❄Add
1/4 cup buttermilk
Water as required to form a tight paste
Heat oil
Drop in small lumps of batter and deep fry till golden
❄Serve hot with Sriracha sauce or tomato chutney. Tastes best on gloomy afternoons.

* Self rising flour can be substituted with a mixture of
1 cup Flour
1/2  tsp Salt
1.5 tsp Baking Powder
