Green Chilli Pickle

Green Chilli Pickle – Always  a necessity in my house!
This particular recipe of mine is a favorite. And I always make a lot of it and distribute to friends.

Indian superstition dictates that if you give something spicy or sharp to your friends , you’ll have a fight with them. So I always make sure that I also have them a bit of something sweet when I give them this or any Pickle

Green Chilli Pickle

Cut into 1 inch segments
1.5 cups of Green Serrano chillis or similar

Powder coarsely

6 tbsp Mustard seeds
2 tsp Rock Salt

Add it to Green Chillis along with
1 tsp Turmeric powder

Shake well so all pieces are uniformly coated

Keep in a Sunny place for 3 to 4 days
Shake regularly

Heat 1 cup Mustard Oil
Let Spluttet
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
Add 1 /2 tsp Asafoetida
Pour over chillis

Let cool
Store in a dry jar and use dry spoon each time to serve

Delicious as a relish with all food ! Gives it the much needed zing and a delicious flavor
