Spinach Sambar or Kuzhambu
Grind to a coarse paste
1/2 cup Coconut
1 tsp Pepper
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
2 to 3 Red Chillis
1 tsp Raw rice
Tadka in hot oil
3 Red Chillis
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
1/3 tsp Methi
Sauté
1/2 Cup Onions
Few Curry leaves till translucent
Add paste
Sauté 3 mts
Add 1/2 tsp Turmeric
1 tsp Tamarind Pulp
1 tsp Salt
Ad 3 cups chopped Spinach
Stir 2 mts till cooked down
Add 1 cup cooked Dal
2 cups water
Bring to boil and Simmer 5 mts
Add a dash of Asafoetida
Let sit for flavors to mingle.
Delicious as a soup. Also great eaten with rice or rotis
