Mix together in a small dish
to form a slurry –
2 tsp Sambar Podi
1/3 tsp Turmeric
1 tbsp Paruppu podi or Rice flour
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Tamarind Pulp
In
1.5 cups water
Add 1 tbsp dried Vathal ( optional)
Layer in a 2 l Pressure Cooker
1/2 cup water
Few Curry leaves
1/2 cup Onions
Flatten
Place Slurry dish over this
Pressure cook for 5 whistles on high
While cooker cools, make
Tadka
2 tbsp Sesame Oil
1 tsp Mustard seeds
1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds
1/2 tsp Asafoetida
1 tbsp Thalippu Vadagam
Open Cooker
Mix slurry to base items
Add 1 cup water
Add Tadka
Mix well
Vatha Kuzhambu in Cooker
